In order to access Equasis for the first time you need to register using a unique* email address. Equasis will then generate a message containing an identification password, which will be sent to the email address provided by the user, in order to verify its authenticity. The message contains instructions allowing the user to complete the final steps necessary to establish a user account. The password generated will be required each time you access the website.

* It should be noted that current security settings prohibit registration using an email address already used for creation of a previous user account. Therefore, please ensure that the email address provided during registration is unique

EQUASIS collates information from existing websites or information systems and makes it available on one website, with the objective of providing a comprehensive picture of safety-related data on each ship displayed.

Although access to EQUASIS is free of charge, data collected at the registration stage will be used to help enable the Management Unit assess what type of information users require.

The information provided in the registration form and any other information on Equasis users that may be stored on the EQUASIS database will be used for statistical purposes. This information is protected by French CNIL, Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des libertés which is in charge of data protection and issued a certificate of compliance, Décision No 696613, dated 13 March 2000. Your e-mail address will only be used to inform you of any changes in EQUASIS and will not be passed to any third parties.

Neither EQUASISNeither Equasis nor its officers or employees shall be under any liability or responsibility whatsoever regarding the data displayed on this site, including hyperlinks. While EQUASIS will make every effort to provide accurate information, it does not rule out the possibility of inadvertent omissions or inaccuracies.

Neither EQUASIS nor its officers or employees accept any responsibility and shall not be liable for any loss to any person caused by or arising from any information displayed on this site.

As per Clause 7 of the Equasis MoU, the Members of the Equasis Supervisory Committee and the organisations invited as observers to the Committee meetings, accept no liability for the accuracy or reliability of the data displayed on Equasis, nor any liability in connection with the management, operation or use of EQUASIS .

Decisions based on information contained in this site are the sole responsibility of the user..

If any users consider that certain data is not accurate they should report it by e-mail to Equasis Staff attaching any relevant documents. Equasis Management Unit staff will then investigate the claim and, where necessary, the data provider will be informed without delay.

The data may only be used for the subscriber's internal business purposes and may not be supplied to any third party.

No part of the information contained in the Equasis website may be stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form, or by any means without prior permission in writing from Equasis.

The following actions are forbidden:

- Bulk-downloading of data contained on the site.

- Use of downloaded data for financial gain.

- Use of a robot or similar remote device to download large batches of data.

The above list is not exhaustive, and it should be noted that Equasis continually monitors the activity on its website and if misuse is detected, then the user's account can be locked without prior notice.

In accordance with the regulations relating to the European Commission subsidies, it is reminded that:

Lloyd's Register Fairplay Ltd (LRF) shall have no responsibility or liability in negligence or otherwise in respect of any inaccuracy in or omission from the ship characteristics or ownership data supplied by LRF as reproduced in the Equasis system.

Without derogating from the generality of the foregoing, LRF shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss caused by or arising from any inaccuracy in or omission from such data.

PARIS MOU, TOKYO MOU, INDIAN OCEAN MOUAND THE US COAT GUARD

Neither the MOUs (their member Authorities, their Secretariat and their database Manager) nor the United States Coast Guard will be held liable for any loss, damage, or harm resulting from the use of information contained in this database, or for any reliance on its accuracy, completeness or timeliness.

The P&I Club, its officers, members, employees, agents and managers and employees of its agents and managers shall be under no responsibility or liability for any error or omission of whatsoever kind (whether or not arising from negligence), for any loss or damage howsoever caused, from the provision of information to this website.

It should particularly be noted:

(1) Whilst making all reasonable efforts to provide accurate information the named P&I Club can not and does not represent or guarantee that a ship is entered (or is not entered as the case may be) with that Club on the date of record.

(2) Entry with a P&I Club should not be taken as a representation by that P&I Club that the ship, its owners, managers and operators are covered for claims, since ships are entered in a P&I Club subject to the Rules of that P&I Club and any specific terms, conditions and exclusions relating to the ship?s entry, including but not limited to Rules, terms, conditions and exclusions concerning payment of calls or premiums and cesser of entry (including retroactive cancellation of cover).
