To access Equasis please register - free of charge

In order to access Equasis for the first time, the user should register using a unique* email address. Equasis will then generate an email which will be sent to the email address provided by the user in order to verify its authenticity. The message contains instructions allowing the user to complete the final steps necessary to establish a user account, in particular an hyperlink to validate the account.
The password will be required each time the user accesses the website, and can be changed via the ‘My Profile’ section.

If a user loses his password, or of his account is blocked, the Lost Password function can be used to receive an email with a temporary password that can be used to login on Equasis.
This temporary password has to be changed in the 24h after its emission.

A user can also delete his account and his personnal data by using the function 'Erase my account and my personnal data' which is available on the ‘My Profile’ section

* Current security settings prohibit registration using an email address which has been already used for the creation of another user account. Therefore, please ensure that the email address provided during registration is unique

EQUASIS collates information from existing websites or information systems and makes it available on one website, with the objective of providing a comprehensive set of safety-related data on each ship displayed.

Although access to EQUASIS is free of charge, data collected at the registration stage will be used to help enable the Management Unit assess what type of information users require.

The information provided in the registration form, and any other information on Equasis users that may be stored on the EQUASIS database, will be used for statistical purposes. This information is protected by French CNIL, Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des libertés , which is in charge of data protection and issued a certificate of compliance (Decision No 696613, dated 13 March 2000). Users’ email addresses will only be used to inform users of changes in EQUASIS, and will not be passed on to third parties (users are not spammed with promotional emails, etc.).

The information available on Equasis may only be used for users’ internal business purposes, and may not be supplied to any third party.

No part of the information on the Equasis website may be stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form or by any means, without prior permission in writing from Equasis.

The following actions are forbidden:

  • Bulk-downloading of data contained on the site.
  • Use of downloaded data for financial gain.
  • Use of a robot or similar remote device to download large batches of data.

The above list is not exhaustive, and it should be noted that Equasis continually monitors the activity on its website. If misuse is detected, the user's account can be locked without prior notice.
